RECENT LOVES

Whoa hold up! What's this? A sorta monthly favourites post? I thought those went extinct ages ago... well, at least they did on this blog back in 2014. To be honest, this post was just an excuse so I could play with my pretty confetti and then whinge about needing to vacuum it out of my carpet afterwards.
I was gazing at my every day makeup drawer (as you do) and oh how things have changed since last year! A new face, a new me... kinda. Oh what nonsense am I spewing now? Anyways, let's get started before this intro officially becomes a mess.



I talked in this post about how when the BB cream bandwagon drove by, I just turned away and frolicked with the cows instead. I deliberately missed it. The no-coverage-orange-face (or grey face, it could go either way) was just not for me. But guess what? ...I've actually been using a BB cream lately. Gasp. SHOCK. HORROR!

The coverage of the BeauteFX BB Cream* really impressed me. Half a pump was all I need - its thicker consistency meant that all my acne scars were covered in a flash - hallelujah! One thing to note - it has a weird powdery-foundation scent, kinda nostalgic in a way? It can look a little dry, so to avoid looking "matte and flat", I use the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge to give a more natural finish. Speaking of this sponge, I know I hated on it when I first tried it but well, let's just say there's a fine line between love and hate ;)
Anyway, if you're hunting for a good coverage BB cream and you're on the lighter side of the spectrum, check this one out!

And just so you know what I'm talking about and need some PROOF (srsly just trust me), you can get upclose and personal with my face while wearing the BeauteFX BB cream. Coverage is ace.


Oh, so here's a bit of a personal update: school sucks. Having 8am classes almost every day sucks even more. And I needed to say that so I could segue (segway) into the Bare Minerals Well Rested Eye Brightener*.  This stuff is seriously SO SO GOOD and I just mix it with everything to make my base look more fresh. And I mean EVERYTHING. Including my mojito. Just kidding. Or am I? 

So. BROWS. I'm still head over heels for my Lioele Auto Eyebrow Pencil, because the shade is just so perf for my asian 50-shades-of-grey brows. It's so soft and easy to use and just fab. *wiggles brows like the cadbury ad*

Confession: I'm not a fragrance person AT. ALL. But when I saw the packaging of Katy Perry's Mad Potion*, I wanted to try it. (Plus, the PR folk sent me CONFETTI so how could I resist!?? It makes the pic look so purdy.) Someone sign me up for a perfumery course because I'm the worst at describing scents, but it's like girly, with the right amount of sweetness and fruitiness... sort of vanilla-y? Yeah idk *runs away with a trail of swoon-inducing pheromones*. Basically, it's YUM.
