A Supreme Tint

With my MAC collection slowly expanding (due to the recent addition of a new lipstick), it has led me to re-discover the MAC section of my lip products drawer - the "sacred" corner that I hardly ever touch - and it has made me realize how much I really love each one. The one I will be featuring today was a gift in my US makeup swap and has been my go-to lip product of choice recently.

Besides light baby pinks, the other colour that I tend to go for on the lips is corals. I don't often wear straight up coral-oranges but I do love me a good, pinky-coral shade. So, when I was generously given the MAC Sheen Supreme Lipglass Tint in Kiss, Kiss I was quite excited but also a bit hesitant as the name suggests a 'lipgloss' type of product, which I am typically not fond of.

Unfortunately, this product seems to have been limited edition as part of their past 'So Supreme' collection (which may make this review a bit redundant) but I wanted to share it with you anyway.

It features a brush type applicator where it requires some winding and clicking of the other end to get the liquid product to come out the top. Surely I am not the only one in saying that this kind of applicator frustrates me to no end. You seemingly always have to constantly twist and twist until all the built-up product leads to an explosion of a glossy, hot mess. Literally while taking photos for this post, it randomly spurted out some product.

I am sad to say that even MAC cannot avoid such a disaster but I have already grown accustomed to storing the product standing up, so it doesn't lead to sticky hands and surfaces the next time I go to use it.

Let's move onto the actual product shall we?

The formula is pretty much that of a lipgloss, minus the stickiness. It definitely lives up to its name of a "sheen supreme" as it leaves your lips positively glossy, a bit plump and almost juicy looking (which I love). I fail to see how it is a "tint" though as it provides impressive pigmentation and can easily achieve a full, coral opacity on the lips.

Kiss, Kiss is a gorgeous colour. I would dare say it is a perfect coral shade for me. Not too coral that it borders on orange, yet has the right amounts of pink. I can easily pop this shade on for everyday wear and I find that when it wears off, it leaves a lovely pinky stain on the lips.

What I have been personally loving is dabbing two or three dots in the inside of my lips, creating a Korean-inspired lip tint - that looks like you've just eaten a cherry.

Overall, the formula of the MAC Sheen Supreme Lipglass Tint is pretty darn nice and this is coming from someone who prefers lipsticks to glosses. Dodgy applicator aside, it leaves a nice stain to your lips and creates the look of juicy, glossy lips.

The MAC Sheen Supreme Lipglass Tints are available from MAC Cosmetics (Australia) for RRP$43.

  1. I hate those pen tip kinda applicators too - so frustrating and nervewracking!

The colour is gorgeous though... I guess you can't win them all!

  2. I've never used one of those pen applicators though they do seem annoying! The shade looks super lovely, y'all know I love my pinky corals too. I've tried a few lipgloss formulas from MAC, I really like the cremesheen glasses but the normal lip glasses are SO sticky! Dislike! This one sounds really nice though!

    1. They are super annoying! Haha :) I prefer a doefoot applicator on my lipglosses. Ooh thanks for sharing! The cremesheen formula is great.

  3. That color is soo pretty! Too bad about the packaging thought. MAC should really get that fixed since it's a higher end brand. But it looks great on your skin tone! I love this collection. ^_^

    1. Thanks! Agreed, I don't know why they couldn't have just made it into a lipgloss packaging.
