haircare routine hair products for itchy scalp dandruff beauty blog australia

How many of us are guilty for neglecting their hair? This post was inspired by the sudden realization that a proportion of my self-confidence comes from my hair and it is time to give back. I count myself lucky to have been blessed with thick healthy locks which is why my haircare routine mainly consists of products that help to keep them soft and as healthy as possible.
Here are some of the hair products I have recently been loving.

Unico Sensitive Shampoo and Conditioner* (RRP$22)
One of my hair struggles involve dealing with an itchy scalp and resulting dandruff. But, no longer will I fear getting asked if I have head lice (yes that really happened)! After using this shampoo and conditioner from Unico. I can go three days without washing my hair and still not feel itchy scalp-wise. Popular brands like Head&Shoulders don't work for me, so I was glad to have found effective, salon-quality products.

The only gripe I have with these is the scent of the shampoo which reminds me of disinfectant but the results are well worth it. The shampoo and conditioner leave your hair feeling clean but not stripped. These aren't the greatest at detangling but they don't claim to be. I would recommend checking out the rest of the range that cater for other hair types if you're interested.

The Body Shop Grapeseed Glossing Serum (RRP$21.95)
This isn't a 'recent' favourite but is one of my holygrail products so it deserves a mention. One run through of this through wet hair ensures that I wake up with soft, smooth hair that is easy to brush out. It can also be used on dry hair if you want to tame or detangle any bits.

John Frieda Frizz Ease Perfect Finish Polishing Serum (RRP$16.99)
I often 'borrow' this product from my mum and let's just say she won't be seeing it for awhile. Having thick hair, it is pretty much a guarantee to wake up with some frizziness going on so this just helps in controlling any flyaways, while giving my hair a smooth and healthy appearance.

L'oreal EverCreme Nourishing Leave-in Spray (RRP$15.95)
Sometimes it can be hard to tell whether a spray is truly doing anything but I believe that this product also plays a part in making my hair lovely and soft. It is super easy to spray through the ends and has a mild coconut scent which I quite enjoy. I think it would be great for those who have dry, lifeless hair and not to mention the massive bottle you get which could probably last me a few more years.

*Provided for consideration. All opinions are 100% honest as always.

  1. I love the packaging of the Unico bottles! So gorgeous. I've got to try that John Freida serum - my hair is quite thick so I'm always trying to control its frizziness! x

  2. I love the Organix Moroccan Oil Argan Oil. It just makes my hair so soft and straight without doing anything, since I hardly ever comb/brush my hair. I think I need that shampoo and conditioner! Gah! We don't have that brand here, I think! Gonna look anyway, though, so thanks! :)

  3. My hair is definitely the largest part of what gives me self confidence too although I can't say I've really thought about it like that till reading this post, haha. Definitely wanting to try the Body Shop Grapeseed Oil Serum. They always seem to be so on-point with skincare that I'm excited to try out the haircare and makeup next. Lovely post! Hope the hair love goes well :)

  6. Nice picks! I use very little hair products actually. Just shampoo and conditioner or a mask. Never any styling products or leave-in treatments. I guess it's a way of compensating for the crazy amount of make-up products that I have and use ;-)
