Beauty Faves | February 2014

I'll be honest. I've been wearing less makeup recently because I've been slowly embracing my bare face. Being able to wear less foundation and let my skin breathe is a good thing right? Also, my skin has been hating me this month so I didn't want to aggravate it. Nevertheless, I still have some standout products I've been using daily.

The first time I tried the Face of Australia Translucent Loose Powder, I instantly knew I was going to love it. It's super soft and finely milled and makes my face feel baby smooth. I was getting a bit tired of my coloured powders that offered more coverage as they were making my face look a bit too dry and cakey so this was a welcomed change. Plus, this comes with LOADS of product so I know it will last me a decent amount of time.

Even if I've been neglecting my makeup recently, I am still a lip junkie at heart and will almost always have some kind of product on my lips. This month, it was a combination of the Covergirl Lip Perfection Balm in Watermelon Twist (a bright bubblegum pink that really brightens up the complexion) and the L'oreal Shine Caresse Lip Stain in Lolita (a natural beige-pink stain that keeps any lip colour lasting longer).

Like I mentioned before, my skin was an utter nightmare this month. Multiple, consecutive breakouts made even applying makeup a bit discouraging as the spots were dry and some were bleeding from me picking at them (please do not learn from me). The Clean & Clear Advantage Fast Clearing Spot Gel  was my main saviour and within a week or two of religious applying, my breakouts subsided. Without it, I think I would have gone crazy by now.

And the latest addition to my skincare regime, specifically nail care, is the Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream*. I've never really taken much notice of the state of my nails/cuticles but now they look healthier and not as cracked, like cuticles should be. Plus, it makes showing off a manicure so much better right?

And those are the few products I've been enjoying in the month of February!
I apologise in advance for the inconsistency of posts as Uni has started, so I hope you understand if I'm unable to get a post up every week. Thanks!

  1. I've been neglecting my FOA powder but I should use it more often now since I'm not coloured powders as well! Definitely gonna use it again!
