Biore Triple Action Toner [Review]

I still remember a year ago, I thought using a toner was just an extra, unnecessary step for me because at that moment, my skincare routine seemed fine. A year later... I can't imagine life WITHOUT a toner!

After finishing up the T.N.Dickinson Witch Hazel Toner (which I loved), I decided to try a new one that I've heard and expected great things about...

   Biore Triple Action Toner

RRP AUD$8.99

Biore is one of my favourite skincare brands. I loved their Combination Skin Balancing Cleanser and their Pore Unclogging Scrub is my HG, so obviously, I had high hopes for this toner!

This is oil-free, claims to help keep skin clear and contains salicylic acid. Mm.. anything with salicylic acid sounds good to me.

My honest experience with this product?

During the first few times I used this... "Holy guacamole, does this STING" I have very sensitive skin and this toner feels so acidic and just leaves my skin feeling a little tingly/stinging sensation (Kinda like the feeling I get with Formula 10.0.6 masks).

Also, this doesn't just feel like acid on the face, it smells like acid too.

Bear in mind that after a few uses, I got used to it and the stinging wasn't as bad.

This does contain some alcohol but it didn't leave my skin feeling terribly tight, so that's good. It didn't dry out my skin too much so there's another positive.

Also, I'm sad to say that I don't think this helped keep my skin clear like it claims. I still got new pimples (because my skin hates me) and I was disappointed with this product to be honest.

Overall, I feel like this isn't gentle enough for my crazy-sensitive skin and what I'm looking for is a gentle, non-acidic-like toner that will help keep the pimples at bay. So I guess that means I'll be returning to my T.N. Dickinson Witch Hazel toner (which won't be for awhile because this bottle is HUGE!)

If you don't have sensitive skin though, this could work out for you. I know it has for other people!

  1. I began reading this with such hope because I know you love Biore products. Boy did that take a turn! Haha! Ah oh well, Biore's a pretty good brand all round, they had to have ONE not-so-good product.

    1. Really? I feel better now! Haha :) I feel guilty when I write a not-so-positive review, thinking it's just me! Thanks Sarah. I love your detailed reviews

  4. I am always nervous around alcohol based products, though I think the bottle of this is pretty :) I have heard good things about the Mario Badescu range of toners for sensitive skin, I think it is the aloe one I've heard is best? I am very fond of that brand so I think I'll be trying that one next

  6. Aww, I'm sorry to hear it didn't really help! Overall I find biore to NOT be strong enough for my liking! I think you do just have quite sensitive skin! I think you should maybe just go for 'sensitive' skincare instead of 'oil controlling ones' although you need the astringent properties the other are probably too strong for you!

  7. Will avoid this one, it sounds too harsh for my skin!

  8. Definitely not liking the sound of stinging! I have one of the Formula 10.0.6 masks and I agree, it does sting when I apply it, but the sensation subsides after a while. I think your skin can get used to it but still, it should ring warning bells I suppose. Too bad this wasn't what you'd hoped!

  12. Hi Sheri,
If it contains salicylic acid maybe it is good for getting rid of acne. What do you think?
