The Velvet Skirt [Outfit and Review]

It's time for this month's fashion post!

Do you guys enjoy my monthly fashion/outfit posts? Let me know if you do! I certainly enjoy them, it's a nice break between all the beauty posts.

Introducing... the Velvet Skirt !

This skirt is lovely to touch (because it's velvet, duh) and I think this is a great piece for the chillier Spring days that we are still experiencing here. This would also be a very suitable item for Fall/Winter as well because of the thicker, velvet material which can help bring some warmth to your legs.

I chose this skirt from OASAP , which is a fashion website based in China but unlike many, it's not a cheap, low-quality wholesaler. I've actually been happy with the pieces I've received in the past.

Actual item:

This skirt is also different from my other skirts as it doesn't have a particularly strong A-line shape, and the skirt kind of just hangs with pleats.

I really do love the material of it though. Textured skirts like this can always be used to dress up any casual outfit and looks a bit more formal.

This skirt is one size fits all, which is a bit annoying because that is physically impossible but the elastic waist band makes it possible to an extent.

And... an outfit like this can easily be transitioned for the cooler months by throwing a sweater over it!

I also chose this black knit sweater with my order.

I was expecting a very thin, possibly even a poorly made sweater but I am quite impressed that the material IS NOT completely sheer like most websites seem to have, but it also isn't the thickest. It is very fitting and flattering, and this sweater is available in 3 different sizes.

If velvet skirts aren't your thing, what about a SUEDE skirt? ;) That was the other item I was contemplating getting. I am definitely loving the textured skirt look!

Website review: Shipping only took one week, like my previous orders, and I'm satisfied with the quality of the item. I was very impressed with the way they handled the situation when the other item I ordered was out of stock and they quickly messaged me informing me and promptly exchanged it.

What do you think about the velvet skirt? :)

    1. From afar, it just looks like a normal skirt. You can only see the "velvet effect" up close and on yourself so you probably can! I think everyone can :) Especially with a basic black color!

  4. Velvet and suede aren't really my kind of material. But they do look nice. I like the shape. :)

  5. Cute as always! Just a question, is the velvet material thick? Like, too heavy for summer maybe? I love the denim shirt!

    1. It actually isn't super thick. The velvet is only on the outside and the inside is lined with a thinner material :)
