Paula's Choice is a website I often turn to for expert advice on skin care. See a suspiciously long ingredient name at the back of a product? Paula's Choice is mega helpful at deciphering that shizz. I had no idea she had her own skincare range, and the moment I saw there was a line called CLEAR Blemish Control, I lost it. I mean, it was targeted towards 'Blemish-Prone Skin', so it basically had my name all over it right?! If it could potentially make my skin even better, why not?
Paula's Choice CLEAR Pore Normalizing Cleanser* (12 USD/19 AUD)
Trying out new cleansers gives me such a rush (weird factor: 10), because you never know what could set your face off. Thankfully, this cleanser is gentle on my sensitive skin and doesn't leave the skin overly dry. It has a gel consistency and you only need a pea-sized amount to spread across your whole face. A good, basic cleanser that might even be on par with my HG Sukin cleanser. Gasp, did I really just say that?
Paula's Choice CLEAR Anti-Redness Exfoliating Solution* (24 USD/32 AUD)
This has opened my eyes to the magical world of rainbows, unicorns and exfoliating toners. I had one active spot which was gone within a few days, and I haven't had one spot since. Seriously awesome. The Anti-Redness Exfoliating Solution also contains 2% salicylic acid, aka my best friend.
Paula's Choice Ultra-Light Daily Mattifying Fluid* (29 USD/35 AUD)
When they say 'Ultra-Light', they really mean it. This is the thinnest moisturizer I've ever used, and to be honest, it's so light weight that it just disappears into your skin and I forget whether I've put it on or not. It's not greasy at all so I would say this is more for the oily skin folks. It has a faint sunscreen scent as it contains SPF15, which is handy for those times I ACTUALLY leave the house (recluse ftw).
There's nothing that peeves me more than skin care with fragrance (no, just no). Thankfully, this whole line is fragrance-free. I'm really enjoying using these products, particularly the cleanser and toner and my skin is looking banging if I do say so myself. Plus, my skin didn't react to anything. Good job, Paula!
One thing to admire is the no-discrimination thing going on. They have a US website AND an Australian website! *wipes tears* (Watch out for that pathetically weak Australian currency though)
