Why does everything grow so fast in summer?! The shaver is constantly at work, and the obsession over the chicken thighs festers while we're forced to parade in shorts, or else we'll erode from our own sweat. My fellow pals and I in the Southern Hemisphere are currently suffering through Summer and I'm sure we all know how gross it feels to wear a full face of makeup amidst the humidity. It's nice to have those products that will do you the favour of not sliding off your face.
(And yes, that was the best title I could come up with. The heat must have evaporated all my creative juices.)
For the longest time, I scoffed at the majority of BB and CC creams out there. One, they sound like bra sizes. Two, they do absolutely nothing for me. The Arbonne Intelligence CC Cream* feels super light-weight and wait for it... it actually covers up stuff! *gasp* The shade Fair is a tad dark for me but it seems to adapt to your skin tone as it settles. It doesn't have a fragrance, nor does it break me out so it's a win-win. On top, I like to use the Milani Multitasker Face Powder. It's really mattifying, so no more oil slick!
The Essence Blush Up! Blush in Heat Wave (very appropriately named) gives a warm, almost sun-burnt look to the face. Handy for those times when you tell your friends you spent the holidays tanning on the beaches when really, you spent all of your time blogging. *cough*
You want to know what magic is? TheBalm Mary-Loumanizer. Seriously, I almost look like a Victoria's Secret model (all I need is the Miranda Kerr bod... and everything else). Pair it with the ELF Blush & Bronzing Duo in St Lucia and you're a glowing beach babe. Heck yes. Don't be scared by the shimmer, because the bronzer just WORKS. Don't forget that I'm as pale as a corpse, and it's usually impossible to find one that doesn't look like I smeared mud on myself.
I'm a total player when it comes to lipsticks, so I think I deserve a round of applause for just settling on two this season. The Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in shade 16 (classic) is my go-to when I want the typical spring/summer coral pink, but what I love is it's satin finish. No slipping or sliding. If my lips are like the desert, the Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer in Apricot* provides moisture together with a sheer, peachy colour. Plus it's minty, mm!
Here's me, attempting to showcase the products through photos of pores galore (cropped so you don't see the lack of brow game). I hope you can at least see the beautiful highlight though!? LOOK MA, I HAVE CHEEKBONES.
