My desk used to be cluttered with escaped pieces of paper and a bunch of random stationery. Now, it's become the home of some of my go-to beauty essentials. Oh how priorities have changed. Being an exceptionally lazy person, it's really handy to have these items by my side, so they are easily accessible while I work or you know, while procrastinating and watching romantic comedies... same thing. And now that I think about it, 'desk' is such a weird word. To say and to spell...
I have this weird
I have this nasty habit of picking off the dry and hardened skin at the sides of my nails. Anyone with me? I literally gnaw them off and it's disgusting but weirdly satisfying at the same time. It's safe to say that my nails are often in a gross, not-fit-for-a-manicure state so I always keep the Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream next to me at all times.
Nowadays, I find myself absent-mindedly painting my nails while waiting for things (eg. pages to load, youtube videos to buffer) and it's such an easy way to relax. Who needs meditation or yoga when you have nail polish? My favorite shades are usually of the clean and understated variety, for example the Bloom Nail Polish in Peaches* which is a sheer creamy colour and makes your nails look clean and tidy.
Also on my desk are the Dermalogica Precleanse Wipes* which are super handy for wiping my hands/arms after swatching products. It also makes a good refresher when you start to oil up during the day or your makeup starts to break down. Oh and don't expect me to be productive and get things done when my lips feel like sandpaper, so a lip balm on my desk is a MUST. Rolling a cute little EOS Lip Balm all over your lips just doubles the fun.
Peeking out of the corner of the photo are my trusty pink and black headphones. They're perfect for small-headed peeps like myself and let's admit it, they are super cool and funky-looking. The best part? They were complimentary with my Just Dance Wii Game. Wow I am just the definition of cool.
