I'm sure we've all heard about the famous Lucas Pawpaw Ointment; able to be used practically all over the body for wounds, cuts, rashes etc.
There are two different scents available: "Olive and Lavender" and "Olive and Lemon Myrtle" which is the one I will be reviewing in this post.
The main feature of this balm that I really love is that it is 100% natural, made from "freshly-picked herbs and essential oils". And you can definitely smell it! It has a strong, herbally, organic scent.
Also, it is free from fragrances, petro-chemicals and synthetic parabens. Sounds good doesn't it?
It can be used to moisturize dry skin, strengthen cuticles and nails and for sensitive skin including eczema.
I'm sure a majority of us suffer from dry elbows and knees and that's exactly where I've been applying this balm. I have sensitive skin and this did NOT irritate it whatsoever.
I've also tried putting this on a rash that I had and the next day, it was almost gone and the skin was definitely no longer as dry or peeling to the extent that it was before.
I have yet to try this as an all-over body moisturizer but from my experience with the dry areas I have, I think it would be very beneficial and moisturizing.
The texture feels a bit like jelly. It's not too thick and it spreads easily. It does not feel greasy on your body although your fingers can feel a bit greasy afterwards, which is an indication of how much moisture is packed into it.
I've also been using this on the soles on my feet because I have a tendency to walk outside barefooted (totally not because I'm too lazy to put on shoes *cough*) thus causing me to have dry soles. I love how it really helps to make my feet feel smoother too.
Overall, if you are a fan of Lucas Pawpaw ointment, or simply suffer from dry areas that need some special attention, I would recommend giving this a go! However, do bear in mind that the herbally scent is quite strong so that might be something to take into consideration.
The MyNewSkin skin balm retails for AUD$24.95 (50g) .
