6 Lip Colours for Spring

spring lipsticks lip colors

To those in the Southern hemisphere, I give you a warm pat on the back because we finally made it through the blistering winds of Winter! I can't be the only one who lived like a recluse in hibernation right? When the first day of Spring arrived, I raced out of the house ready to sing "The Hills Are Alive" but was greeted by a torrential rain pour. Clearly Mother Nature didn't get the memo. Of course, once it actually feels like Spring, you can bet that I'll be parading around in my peachy-pinks and coral lips.

Here are 6 lip colours that I'm determined to exhaust by the end of this season.

Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in Shade 16
Ah the cult Spring lip classic. There's just something about this bright yet not-in-your-face coral that has bloggers singing about it from the rooftops. It is a shade that is surprisingly unique? But there's something about it's creamy, satin finish that I find weirdly drying, so I'm now documenting my solemn oath (of which you are all witnesses to) to try to pull this one out more often.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Cherish
I'm all for a good moisturising lip crayon and Cherish somehow makes me look paler (if that's even possible) but who cares when you can have a natural, yet Barbie-esque pink. I really need to cherish this one more (get it? Wow I'm just sinking in my own lame puddle right now). If you love the blue-based pinks, this one is waiting for you.

Covergirl Lip Perfection Jumbo Gloss Balm in Watermelon Twist
If my lip products were a class of students, this one would be my favourite kid (even though favouritism is bad - but it still exists!) It is so natural and adds a wash of peachy-pink goodness. This lip crayon is even more moisturising than the Revlon and is definitely a no-fuss product that you could apply even without a mirror - ain't that a cool party trick? On a side note, how epic would it be if someone came out with an actual JUMBO-sized lip crayon?

NYX Butter Gloss in Peach Cobbler
This one's for you coral fanatics out there. As the only gloss in this post, it shows that the formula of these butter glosses are top notch. Smooth, pigmented and most importantly - NOT. STICKY. Thanks NYX, I really appreciate it.

Revlon Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya
I think this is one of my most loved lippies of all time so yes, do take note of this one! I'm just in love with the creamy, hydrating formula and it's not annoyingly super sheer like some of the other shades in the lip butter range. I'm going off on another tangent here but who here likes papayas? (For some reason, their smell makes me want to gag)

Burt's Bees Natural Lip Crayon in Redwood Forest*
Now I know what you're thinking. This definitely does not look like a 'typical' Spring shade but if we were all restricted to just corals and peaches in Spring/Summer, let's face it- we'd all look the same and I'd seriously get bored of my own lipstick. When everything is all bright and colourful, sometimes I like to tone my lips down for a change with Burt's Bees Redwood Forest, which is similar to my natural lip colour but a tad darker. The best thing about it is that it's matte, but still comfortable to wear - it's a win-win.
