After hearing much hype about this product, before I knew it, I was standing in front of the product in question at the supermarket. It was on sale so temptation and curiosity took over and I ended up purchasing the
Nivea In-Shower Rich Body Lotion Skin Conditioner (for Very Dry Skin). Whew that's a mouthful.
I don't have exceptionally dry skin but I decided to get the one for "Very Dry Skin" since I figured it would offer the best in terms of moisturization. Prior to this, I didn't moisturise my body on a daily basis. My face - Yes, because that's what I consider most important. But my body and legs were always neglected on the moisture front. My legs would even sometimes adopt the "spiderweb" look as I like to call it when it gets REALLY dry.
Due to the many rave reviews in the blogosphere, I had high hopes for this, thinking it was going to be a miracle product that would cure my 'too-lazy-to-moisturise' problems. I simply apply my usual body wash and then this on top, followed by a complete rinse.
I will say that this is an effective product. It does make my body feel extra moisturized after a shower. The way it does this, is that it feels like a layer of moisturizer on top of your skin. If you don't like the feeling of product sitting on top of your skin, then I wouldn't recommend trying this product. After I pat myself dry, I find that the layer of moisture is still there and my skin feels soft and smooth.
It is a slightly thick lotion and while it does smell like almond oil (which makes sense as that's the main ingredient), in my opinion, it also smells like a blend of baby powder and my mum's perfume? Trust me, it's not as unpleasant as it sounds and I don't mind it.
I enjoy the fact that I can now skip the step of moisturizing my body because it means I can spend more time doing more productive things (like watching Youtube videos *cough*). And now that we're approaching the colder months, I appreciate any bit of moisture I can get. However, I don't think this is something everyone must rush out to get as it's probably not essential. It's a good product... but not amazing.
Available for AUD RRP$7.99 (often on sale for $5-6).
What are your thoughts on this product?
I've tried this and I agree, not the biggest fan. It's just standard.
ReplyDeleteYeah I agree. If I wasn't too lazy to moisturize my body, it'll probably have the same effect.
DeleteI wasn't really into it - I didn't like washing myself twice lol. And I found I used it up quickly too.

Haha I know what you mean. I feel like I need a lot of product to get good results, so I'll probably use it up quickly too.
DeleteI'm glad you've enjoyed it at least! I haven't tried the super super dry yet but I have tried the normal one! xx
ReplyDeleteI remember seeing your review and you loved it. One of the reasons why I was so curious about it ;)
DeleteI think I have to agree with you. I find it makes my skin feel soft and smooth (albeit a wee bit sticky), but I don't think it does much in terms of intense, actual getting deep down there, moisture. I rarely use mine actually. I am just like you though - I totally neglect my body moisturisation and also get spiderwebs haha eeek!

Yeah I agree! Haha :)
DeleteI love this product I'm very lazy regarding the rest of my body opposed to my face haha please follow my blog, its new http://maybemayhemmakeup.blogspot.com.au/
ReplyDeleteI won this from a beautyheaven prize pack and haven't used it yet so it was interesting to hear your thoughts!
ReplyDeleteI think you liked it more than me. I actually super disliked this and don't want to use it ever again, lol. I found it just made my legs WET more than anything and the sensation of being covered in slime or something.
ReplyDeleteI totally know what you mean about the sensation of this product on the skin. Haha I guess I don't mind the feeling of slime :)
